Nicola Ughi, Italy



Nicola Ughi is a photographer. He began shooting since he was a child, photographing every Alfa Romeos passing on the streets near his house, in Pisa… and the leaning tower, sometimes. Became professionist in 2007, after a master degree in the John Kaveradsh Academy in Milan (reportage photography with Sandro Iovine). Then worked mainly for assigned projects for an important betting agency in Italy (SNAI) in Horse courses reportege around Italy, and for the stallion activity of the world known horse Varenne, with two friends coming out form the same school. Published two photography books in 2007 (San Rossore – reportage da un ippodromo) about a racing day in San Rossore (PISA); and “Terra di Giacomo Puccini”, a reportage about the towns and birthlands of the famous composer, for the Provincial Administration of Lucca, in 2009. Nicola is specialized in portraits, groups, industrial and commissioned reportages, sport and horse riding shootings. He works mainly with some important italian industrial groups as Fixdesign Fashion Group, Azimut-Benetti Yachts and custom publishing Magazines. Official photographer for the famous italian writer Marco Malvaldi. Portraits are published on the main italian magazines and newspapers; and internet reviews. He was recognized with a lot of honorable mentions in the IPA 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012. Won a third prize in IPA 2009 with the collegue Alessandro Fasolo Garzia with the Basket Cantù Calendar; and a first prize in 2011 on the international prize “Focus on Agricolture”. He also work on personal artprojects, such as “Maniscalchi” and “Tra Foce e Pineta”. The last became also a book supported by the Provincial Administration of Pisa in 2012. Nicola Ughi
